Osman Damdelen

Osman has had a mammoth and outstanding career in the Italian car market throughout his life. Starting at the age of 16 Osman landed himself an apprenticeship position at Norbury based Lacardi Cars with founder/owner, Fiat 500 guru, Jimmy D’Carlo. Jimmy is currently the most respected Fiat 500 technician in the UK so a true credit to Osman’s initial birth into the Motor trade. It was here that Osman successfully completed his vehicle technicians training obtaining both levels of the awarded Btec national Diploma.
In 1989 Osman flew the nest and went to work at small but local Fiat main agent, Premier Motors in Sydenham. It was here that he would founder his love and passion for the Italian car market and with an abundance of training under his belt he was soon coached into a more rewarding position at another Fiat Main agent, Thames Service Station Bromley. Osman became a very well respected and effective technician at the Thames group with productivity soaring to new heights and winning him Snap-On’s (Tool manufacturer) ‘Most Productive Technician of the Year Award’ 5 years on the trot! It was this that primed Osman’s fantastic approach to working ethics and complimented his technical abilities.
1993 Osman transferred his efforts to the Croydon branch of Thames Service Station and when the team formed in the later years Thames Croydon would be the best Fiat & Alfa Romeo dealership in the Southeast. Osman, committed to Thames for his best achievements stuck with them through the loss of the Fiat franchise in 1996 and continued with them as they took on the Suzuki brand mastering the product very quickly and establishing himself as a Suzuki master technician.
2001 saw a huge carrot being dangled from the Jonathan Cummins, Ancaster run site over in Bromley. Osman eager to get back to the Italian car market jumped at the chance and joined Jonathan’s fantastic service team and quickly exploited his talents in this area and gained him a Dealer Expert Technicians status. By 2002 Osman had achieved promotion into a Workshop Foreman/Controller role where his talents really came into play, maximizing workshop productivity and general procedures. Customer satisfaction was also on the up as detailed reports and customer communications were appreciated by visiting clientele.
Osman has since been overlooking the running of the Bromley site dealing with all aspects of the business ranging from customer relations all the way through to accounting. He is a know face throughout the catchment area of this garage and is much loved by all our customers, some say he’s a true gentlemen!!
Osman’s fanatical fetish for classic italian cars saw him buying back his pride and joy Fiat Tipo Mk2 Sedicivavolve and carrying out extensive modifications to the body, interior trim, sound system and, soon to come, race spec’d engine.
